Hike, Bike & Golf the Secluded Caribbean
Ask anyone who has been there. Secluded Caribbean islands are perfect for snorkeling, lazy days at sea, and quiet walks on sun-kissed beaches. Although this may be enough to entice you to go yachting with SeaDream Yacht Club, the Caribbean has more to offer than quiet lagoons, sandy shores, and adventurous watersports. In fact, the most unassuming islands are perfect for hiking, biking, and teeing off.
Whether you join a crew-led morning hike, sign up for a Yachting Land Adventure, or simply explore on your own, get ready to discover some of Caribbean’s most unmissable destinations in the British Virgin Islands, West Indies, and Netherlands Antilles.
Hiking
Lush and green vegetation along with mountainous terrains present the perfect landscape for excellent hiking. Lace-up your hiking shoes and prepare to encounter unspoiled nature, long-distance trails, and refreshing power walks.
St. Lucia, West Indies
The gem of the Windward Islands of the Lesser Antilles, St. Lucia shines for hiking opportunities. For hilly rainforest hiking, St. Lucia delivers a mix of both relaxing walks and strenuous treks. Of course, no St. Lucia outing is complete without climbing the majestic Pitons, one of the most iconic destinations in the Caribbean. Adventurers, be forewarned: Hiking up the Pitons is moderate to extremely challenging, but well worth the journey.
Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands
From Leverick Bay, hike to Hog Heaven on an uphill trek. Be rewarded with breathtaking views of the ocean and many of the neighboring islands, including Bitter End, Moskito Island, Necker Island, Eustatia, Prickly Pear, Saba Rock, and more. On clear days, you can even catch a distant glimpse of Anegada, north of Virgin Gorda and northeast of Tortola.
St. Barths, West Indies
Few think of St. Barths as a hiking destination, but there is plenty of access to rocky terrain and tropical flora on this island. The most notable hiking trail is Colombier Beach Trail, a 30-minute walk from Petite Anse to Colombier Beach as it winds its way from its high point down through a nature reserve to a secluded beach shoreline, which otherwise can only be accessed by sea. Another great St. Barths hike is the 45-minute jaunt up to Fort Karl and then down to Shell Beach, located near the SeaDream tender landing.
Biking
The diversity of the Caribbean islands offers travelers roads, trails, and off-the-beaten-paths from which they can explore these incredible locations in ways few have considered—by bike. While typically there are paths for cyclists of all skill levels, if you are a serious cyclist, be prepared to discover new challenges that test your athletic prowess. Your SeaDream yachts come equipped with mountain bikes and helmets at the ready, perfect for a day of independent exploration.
Guadeloupe, Lesser Antilles
Unbeknownst to most travelers, Guadeloupe boasts 600 miles of paved roads, making it a popular destination for both amateur and serious cyclists alike. Off-the-beaten paths in Guadeloupe National Park and the locales of Deshaies, Basse-Terre and Marie-Galante call cyclists to explore the beauty and culture of the island.
Anguilla, Leeward Islands
Just 17 miles long and 3 miles wide, Anguilla is easy to navigate and explore, with trails such as Katouche and Brimegin providing an intimate view of the island’s natural beauty. While there are many guided tours of the island, it's just as easy—and perhaps more fun—to grab a map and visit spots from Sandy Ground to the East End on your own.
Nevis, Leeward Islands
Nevis’s main road is a 20-mile circle, so riding around the entire island provides a delightful option for bicyclists, with more detailed outings that allow riders of all skill levels to learn about the island’s history from their bikes.
Golfing
Quite simply put: SeaDream lures golfers. Those who know golf know that the Caribbean boasts some of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses, designed by big names like George and Tom Fazio, Robert Trent Jones, Arthur Hills, Greg Norman, and Pete Dye.

St. Lucia Golf Resort & Country Club
Rodney Bay, St. Lucia
The St. Lucia Golf Resort & Country Club is the 18-hole championship course of St. Lucia. The undulating par-71 only plays 6,685 yards off the blues, but the course attracts a USGA rating of 74.3, considering the strong winds, water hazards, and 16 out-of-bounds. Golf is also offered at the 9-hole Sandals Regency La Toc golf course, another notable on the island.
El Conquistador Resort
Fajardo Bay, Puerto Rico
SeaDream Yacht Club may just be the only commercial vessel that calls on Fajardo Bay, anchoring just off the luxe El Conquistador Resort. Here you have several Yachting Land Adventure options, including resort golf, scuba, and night kayaking through its world-renowned bioluminescent bay. El Conquistador Resort Puerto Rico offers a golf course with a driving range, putting green, and chipping area. The course also has four sets of tees to adjust the challenge level.
