    San Juan

    San Juan, founded in the 1520’s by Spanish settlers, is both the largest city and the capital city of Puerto Rico. A territory of the Unites States, Puerto Rico is comprised of the large main island as well as five smaller islands, including the popular islands of Vieques and Culebra (both ports of call on select SeaDream voyages). SeaDream docks in Old San Juan, the oldest part of the city. Parts of this historic port city are still surrounded by stone walls dating back to the 1500’s. Narrow cobblestone streets, small shops, and points of interest like Cathedral of San Juan Bautista make this charming city a great place to stroll. Guests sailing into or departing from San Juan will enjoy views of Castillo de San Felipe del Morro, a mid- 1700’s Spanish fortress. San Juan Luiz Munoz Marin Airport is approximately a 30-minute drive to the port in Old San Juan. Currency in Puerto Rico is USD.

    The BVI’s barefoot island and home of the "Painkiller" drink. Population depends on the month – typically 250-300. This is another SeaDream destination where you may be served Champagne and Caviar in the surf followed by a beach barbecue lunch. A hike is always offered to guests to visit the famous Foxy’s Bar at Great Harbour (hopefully, the boutique is open) or you can stroll a few meters down the beach to the Soggy Dollar Bar. Snorkeling equipment is provided as well as some of our water toys!

    Funchal, Madeira

    Funchal is considered the sixth largest city in Portugal, and for five centuries, it has also been the capital of Portugal’s Autonomous Region of Madeira. Funchal has a rich history, which quickly became a populated settlement due to its productive soils, and its surrounding valley having a natural amphitheater shape that provided shelter for early settlers. SeaDream guests may visit top tourist locations such as Blandy's Wine Lodge, the open Worker's Market and the Sacred Art Museum. You will find a passenger gondola lift (Funchal Passenger Ropeway), that transports people from the lower section of the city to the suburb of Monte. Aside from the city of Funchal, there are more tourist destinations such as Santana, beaches of Porto Santo Island, Porto Moniz, Ribiera Brava, Curral das Freiras, and the UNESCO Natural site, the Laurisilva forest.

    Malaga

    Malaga, together with adjacent towns and municipalities such as Rincon de la Victoria, Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Alhaurin de la Torre, Mijas, and Marbella, forms the Malaga Metropolitan area. The important cultural infrastructure and the rich artistic heritage have culminated in the nomination of Malaga as a candidate for the 2016 European Capital of Culture. The internationally acclaimed painter and sculptor Pablo Picasso and actor Antonio Banderas were both born in Malaga.   • White Bay, Jost van Dyke - Sandy Spit National Park Snorkel Adventure

    Description

    From your yacht marina, you will board a motor snorkel boat and cruise throughout the Jost van Dyke collection of islands. The vessel will anchor off Sandy Spit National Park, where you can snorkel and swim over a fascinating reef. Then it’s anchors aweigh, and head for Diamond Cay - a tiny islet completely surrounded by powdery white sand, azure blue waters and an underwater world filled with colorful marine life. Swim, snorkel or sun directly off the boat before returning to the ship’s anchorage.

    Notes

    Wear your swimsuit under your clothes; bring a towel, dry t-shirt or sweatshirt, sunscreen and a hat. Alternative snorkel locations may be selected according to sea and weather conditions. This activity may be operated on a sailing catamaran. Masks, snorkels, and snorkel vests are provided as well as instruction for a novice. Approximately 1 ½ hours snorkel time. A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures and some have limited capacity. All adventures in the SeaDream Yachting Land Adventures program are subject to change. Final departure times will be published onboard. Kindly note that you will be asked to sign a waiver prior to participating. If this tour operates on the first day of your voyage, we strongly recommend you prebook this before embarking to avoid any disappointment.

  • Malaga - Malaga's Old City - Tour & Tapas

    Description

    Get to know the old city of Malaga with a knowledgable local guide. Our yacht is docked at a palm-lined pier close to the center of the city. We leave the yacht in a small group of guests and start the walk to the old city of Malaga with our local guide. From Plaza de la Marina we proceed up Calle Larios, exploring the narrow side-streets. Our first stop will be at Plaza de la Merced where we visit Picasso's birthplace. We then pass the roman theater on our way to the Alcazaba. This grand Moorish fortification was built by the Berber ruler Badis Ben Habus in the mid-11th century on a hill in the center of the city, overlooking the port. After our exploration of the citadel we walk down to the typical tapas bar called Bodega "El Pimpi" for refreshment and tapas. We can recommend the sherry. Our guide will make sure we get back safely to the yacht.
