Nice is the fifth most populous city in France and the second largest on the Mediterranean coast. The city's famous seaside promenade, the Promenade des Anglais ('the Walkway of the English') owes its name to the earliest settlers to this seaside resort. For over a quarter century, the picturesque Nicean surroundings have attracted not only those in search of relaxation but also those seeking inspiration. SeaDream docks in the small port and offers several land adventure options as well as private arrangements and transfers.
The picturesque fishing village of Portofino can be found along the Italian Riviera, and is one of the most popular resort getaways in all of Italy. Portofino has been a staple of tourism in Italy since the 19th century, officially replacing fishing as its chief industry in 1950. Portofino is twinned with Kinsale, Ireland, and Palma (de Mallorca), Spain. Roman philosopher and military commander Pliny the Elder declared that Portofino was founded by the Romans, and with the high concentration of dolphins found in the Tigullian Gulf, it was named the “Port of the Dolphin” - Portus Delphini. Portofino was primarily a member of the Republic of Genoa in early days, and never provided more than a resting area for the merchant navy due to its naturally cramped harbor. The Republic of Florence purchased Portofino in 1409 from French King Charles VI, yet returned when the Florentines were ousted. Portofino became a part of the Kingdom of Sardinia in 1815, and during Risorgimento, it became a member of the Kingdom of Italy in 1861. Aristocratic visitors from Northern Europe began visiting the town in the 19th century, leading to eventual vacation homes and celebrities appearing in Portofino. Portofino is naturally beautiful port with colorful, iconic architecture that was even replicated as a hotel resort at the Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando. The Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan also created a seaside town based on Portofino. Tourists like to visit the museum Castello Brown, which provides a great view of the town, as well as the churches of St. Martin, Oratorio di Nostra Signora Assunta, and St. George - the latter containing some relics of saints. When visiting Portofino, be sure to take a guided dive to the Portofino Marine Park, as well as take a glimpse at the recently restored famous underwater statue, the Christ of the Abyss.
One word – Incredible! Cinque Terre, Portovenere and the three Island of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. They have been selected for being distinguished examples of the ways in which man has been able to modify and transform the environment without altering the beauty of the original natural landscape. Most of our valued guests will participate in the ever popular “Cinque Terre: Don’t go Home Without It” Land Adventure. Others may enjoy the guided village walk or go hiking on several trails leading down the coast. Most guests will make a purchase of the amazing local pesto and we are fairly certain our Executive Chef will do the same. Be prepared for an incredible dinner al fresco this evening!
Calvi located on the northwest coast of Corsica in the Haute-Corse department of France. Some have speculated that Christopher Columbus came from Calvi, which at the time was part of the Genoese Empire. SeaDream has an option to dock in the heart of town or anchor off the marina to offer marina possibilities. As most of the main sites are just a stone throw away, we have arranged a guided walking land adventure. Other options include the popular Villages of Corsica adventure, Golf, mountain biking or relaxing on the beach.
Sanary-sur-Mer is a Provencal village located in the Var department in the Provences-Alpes-Côtes d'Azur region of France. Most visitors fall in love with the town shortly after they arrive. The harbor has several traditional wooden boats called “pointus” that are used by the fisherman daily. They sell their catch each morning on the harbor front. Market day is always a special treat so plan accordingly. The nearby village of Bandol has some of the oldest vineyards in France. It’s an easy bike ride down the coast from Sanary-sur-Mer. Other options include a land adventure to the nearby town of Castellet a typical hilltop village where you can explore and have a nice wine tasting. Golf at De La Fregate as well as water sports are also on option here.
St. Tropez located on the French Riviera quite simply may be the most famous resort town in Europe. It is a playground for the fashion models, athletes, movie stars, entertainers and other extremely wealthy summertime guests. There’s much to offer in this resort town, shopping, nightlife (Byblos hotel’s Les Caves du Roy nightclub) exceptional beach clubs such as Le Club 55 and Nikki Beach at Pampelonne. Nearby you can explore some of the hill towns and visit the award winning rose wineries. You can also visit neighboring Grimaud and Port Grimaud or just a little further out golf at a few highly rated courses. SeaDream anchors just off the break wall and tenders directly to the pier downtown.
Often referred to as “the French Pompeii,” Fréjus bursts with ancient monuments and a history that few seaside towns can claim. Here Julius Caesar founded the first Roman military harbor on the Mediterranean coast, and with its 2,000-year-old history you might just feel like you are in gladiatorial times past. Unmissable sites include the Roman Ampitheater, an impressive oval arena perched on the edge of town; the Roman Aqueduct, where channeled waters from the Foux and Siagnole Rivers meet via massive underground conduits; and the Archaeological Museum, which houses the bust of Hermes, the symbol of Fréjus. Take in the open-air street markets and cafés, brimming with local life and culture, and ask your chef to accent your evening’s meal with local flavors.

After an approximate 30-minute drive you will arrive at the winery created in the 1960s by Baron Henry Louis de La Grange, and also the owner of the Convent of Alzipratu. Fréjus - Esterel Massif Discovery Hike
Description
Depart the port of Fréjus for an invigorating adventure that blends sightseeing with an immersive hike through the striking Esterel Mountains. Your instructor will meet you at the pier before you board a minivan for a scenic 45‑minute drive along the Mediterranean coast. As you approach the trailhead, the landscape transforms into a dramatic panorama of volcanic peaks rising sharply from the sea, their deep red tones contrasting beautifully with the intense blue of the water. This protected natural area spans 14,000 hectares and offers some of the region’s most captivating scenery.
Upon arrival, your instructor will guide you along a natural path that reveals the Esterel’s remarkable biodiversity. The southern slopes, sun‑drenched and dry, are covered with hardy Mediterranean vegetation adapted to limit water loss, while the cooler northern slopes host ferns, holly, and heather in a microclimate reminiscent of alpine environments. The volcanic soil, rugged and acidic, has shaped a unique ecosystem that thrives despite its challenges. Located between Saint‑Raphaël and Mandelieu‑la‑Napoule, the Esterel Massif is a Natura 2000 protected site, with its highest peak rising just over 2,000 feet.
As you continue your two‑hour hike, you’ll enjoy sweeping views, peaceful surroundings, and the opportunity to appreciate the geological and botanical richness of this extraordinary landscape. After the hike, your minivan will be waiting to take you back to Fréjus, offering a relaxing return journey after your time in nature. This experience is ideal for active guests seeking a deeper connection with the Côte d’Azur’s wild beauty, combining physical activity with unforgettable coastal and mountain vistas.Notes

Fréjus - Fréjus on Foot – From Roman Port to Provençal Charm
Description
Reach the city center and begin a guided walking tour through Forum Julii, the name given by the Romans to Fréjus nearly 2,000 years ago. Accompanied by your guide, explore the layers of history that have shaped this ancient city, brought to life through engaging commentary and historical anecdotes as you move through its emblematic landmarks.
Step back into Roman times with a visit below ground to one of Fréjus’ most recent archaeological discoveries: a remarkably well-preserved Roman fish pond, a rare and striking example of Roman engineering ingenuity. Continue through the medieval heart of the city, strolling along narrow alleys before entering the cathedral, where architecture and atmosphere reflect centuries of religious and civic life.
The walk then reveals a more modern side of Fréjus, as you pass through picturesque streets lined with colorful façades that characterize the historic center today. After the guided visit, return toward the port with a leisurely seaside stroll. Enjoy the lively marina atmosphere, with time to pause for a coffee or artisanal ice cream by the water. The tour concludes at the Square de la Lanterne d’Auguste, site of an ancient Roman lighthouse and a lasting symbol of Fréjus’ maritime past. At the end of the tour, guests may remain in town and return to the port at their leisure or return to the yacht with the guide.Notes
This tour is conducted entirely on foot, with walking over uneven, hilly, and rocky terrain and several steps along the route. It is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for guests unable to manage uneven ground or stairs. There are no restrooms available during the tour. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The walk between the port and the city center is approximately 1.4 km (0.9 miles) each way.
