  • Puerto Banus - Mijas & Modern Masterpieces

    Description

Explore the captivating charm of Spanish country life as you venture beyond Puerto Banus' bustling port. Meander through the quaint, cobbled lanes of this picturesque village and be captivated by its allure, offering artists a haven with breathtaking panoramic vistas of the Mediterranean Sea.

Continue the guided walking tour towards the bullring. The Mijas bullring is quirky because of its unusual shape. It was built near the castle in 1900 due to high demand from the people of the area. However, because of the irregular shape and lie of the land where it was to be situated, it meant that they had to build an oval shape rather than the usual circle - making it unique in Spain.

Next on the itinerary is the Contemporary Art Center of Mijas, a venue boasting a prestigious connection with iconic cities like Paris, New York, Madrid, Barcelona, and Málaga. Located in the heart of Mijas village, this art museum proudly exhibits the works of Pablo Picasso. Inside, you'll find a captivating private collection featuring 400 original masterpieces, including some of Picasso's renowned works and the world's second-largest collection of Picasso ceramics. This remarkable display also showcases artworks from acclaimed artists and friends such as George Braque, Foujita, Salvador Dalí, and Joan Miró.

    Notes

This tour is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. This Yachting Land Adventure must be confirmed no later than 48 hours (2 days) prior to arrival in port; bookings may still be accepted after this deadline, up to the time of arrival, if space is available. • Portimao, Algarve - Benagil Caves by RIB Boat

    Description

Depart from the pier for a short transfer to Portimão Marina. After a safety briefing, board an uncovered rigid inflatable boat and begin the coastal journey eastward. The route passes the fishing village of Ferragudo and the historic castle overlooking the beach before continuing toward Carvoeiro. Along the way, observe the Algarve coastline from the water, with its cliffs, secluded sandy beaches, and rock formations shaped by the sea.

Continue toward Algar Seco and Benagil, where the boat enters a series of coastal grottoes. Inside the caves, view natural openings, sculpted limestone walls, and formations created through wind and marine erosion. Algar Seco and the Benagil caves are among the most photographed coastal locations in Portugal, and photography and video are permitted throughout the experience. The open boat allows uninterrupted views of the cliffs and shoreline, with no shaded areas or restroom facilities onboard.

After exploring the grottoes, cruise west along the same coastline toward Portimão, taking in further views of the beaches and cliffs from the water. On arrival at the marina, disembark the boat and rejoin the waiting vehicle for the return transfer to the pier.

    Notes

The boat ride involves motion and bumpy conditions. The tour is not accessible to guests with limited mobility and is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with back or neck issues, or those who suffer from seasickness. The minimum age is 10 years. Entrance to the grotto is subject to sea conditions, and the tour is subject to weather conditions. The uncovered rigid inflatable boat sits low on the water and provides no protection from sun, wind, or cooler air over the water. Spray may occur, and clothing and personal belongings may become wet, particularly when the sea is unsettled. Guests should secure hats, glasses, cameras, and mobile phones against wind, spray, and sudden boat movement. Comfortable shoes are recommended.

  • Portimao, Algarve - Portimão Heritage & Sardine Tasting

    Description

Begin with a panoramic drive through Portimão, passing key areas of the city before arriving at Praia da Rocha. Here, pause for photographs and enjoy time at leisure along this well-known coastal setting. Souvenir shopping is available during the stop before continuing to the Museum of Portimão, housed in the restored Féu fish-canning factory beside the Arade River. The museum preserves the city’s industrial, maritime, and ethnographic heritage, with collections connected to fishing, canning, shipbuilding, stowage, lithography, foundry work, transportation, and local archaeology.

During the guided museum visit, explore the permanent exhibition “Portimão – Territory and Identity,” which traces the development of the municipality and its community. Displays and preserved industrial spaces illustrate the importance of the canning industry and the working traditions that shaped Portimão’s economy and relationship with the river and sea. The museum also includes archaeological material recovered from terrestrial and underwater sites throughout the municipality. Recognized with the Council of Europe Museum Award in 2010, it was distinguished for its presentation of work-related heritage.

Continue to a local restaurant for a tasting of a traditional sardine tapa accompanied by one glass of wine. This final stop introduces one of the products closely associated with Portimão’s fishing and canning history, connecting the museum visit with the city’s local gastronomy. Restrooms are available at the restaurant, and the tasting area is reached over flat, cobblestoned terrain. After the tasting, walk back to the waiting coach and return directly to the pier.

    Notes

The Portimão Museum visit includes 10–15 steps, and cobblestones are present at various sites; comfortable shoes are therefore recommended. The tour is not accessible to guests with limited mobility. Guests must be 18 years or older to be served alcohol. The museum is housed in a former fish-canning factory, and parts of the exhibition focus on industrial processes, fishing, maritime trades, and local working life.
