Departing from Belfast, guests travel along Northern Ireland’s coastal route in a vintage coach, following a scenic drive that reveals alternating stretches of shoreline and countryside. The journey unfolds at a measured pace, allowing clear views of the coastline and inland landscapes while the guide provides contextual commentary on the region. This extended drive forms a central part of the experience, emphasizing the changing character of the route as it leads toward County Antrim and the historic village of Glenarm.
Upon arrival at Glenarm Castle, guests enter one of Northern Ireland’s oldest estates, long associated with the Earls of Antrim. A guided visit leads through the castle’s interior spaces, where architectural details and preserved rooms illustrate the continuity of family ownership and heritage. The tour focuses on the structure’s historical development and its role as a private residence, offering access to areas not typically open to the public and presenting a clear view of the estate’s scale and refinement.
Following the interior visit, time is allocated to explore the castle gardens independently. Guests may walk through the grounds at their own pace, with opportunities to visit the on-site gift shop featuring local produce and souvenirs. The experience concludes with a return drive to Belfast along the same coastal route, where uninterrupted views of the shoreline and countryside accompany the final stretch back to the yacht.
Notes: The transfer to and from Glenarm Castle is approximately 90 minutes each way. Comfortable, waterproof, and warm clothing is recommended due to variable coastal weather conditions. Glenarm Castle is a private residence and may close at short notice; access to certain areas may vary depending on operational or family requirements. There are no seatbelts on the vintage coach, and they are not required due to the nature of the vehicle. This tour is not recommended for wheelchair users or guests with limited mobility.
