Medieval Kotor Stroll & Tavern Tastings

Medieval Kotor Stroll & Tavern Tastings

Step into the timeless charm of medieval Kotor as your private guide leads you through its most treasured landmarks, ending in an indulgent tasting of regional specialties at a local tavern. A local guide will be waiting upon your arrival to escort you on a private walking tour of the town’s highlights. Visit the magnificent Cathedral of St. Triphun, one of the oldest and finest examples of Romanesque architecture. Constructed in 1166 on the remains of a 9th century temple, the cathedral houses remnants of 13th century frescoes and a treasury featuring local and Venetian artwork from the 14th to 20th centuries.

Next, proceed to the 17th century Grgurina Palace, now home to the Naval Museum, a testament to Kotor’s long maritime history. Continue your informative walk past the ancient town walls, which in some places rise up to 60 feet, and enjoy wandering through narrow streets lined with medieval houses, palaces, and churches.

At the end of the tour, your guide will escort you to a local tavern for a tasting of the famous Njegusi prosciutto, smoked cheese, and local red wine. After the tasting, you may choose to remain in town on your own or return to the yacht.
